Medical iSight establishes Neuroradiology partnership with NYU Langone Health

The Division of Neuroradiology at NYU Langone Health has partnered with Medical iSight Corp, the creator of a cutting-edge 3D digital surgery platform.

The partnership will further evaluate MiS' visualisation, navigation, and clinical insight algorithms for image-guided thrombectomy following a stroke or for blood vessel repair following an aneurysm. The device is intended to facilitate surgeries that call for inserting a catheter in the wrist or groyne, which must then be guided through blood vessels (such as the carotid arteries and aorta) to the affected location.

An equity stake in MiS is owned by NYU Langone as part of the partnership.

New York and London-based Medical iSight is eager to collaborate with the interventional radiologists and neurosurgeons at NYU Langone Medical Center to enhance preoperative planning and intraoperative navigation to hasten clot removal and decrease ischemic tissue damage for stroke victims. Strokes are the second greatest cause of mortality and the third leading cause of disability worldwide, claiming 5.5 million lives each year.

The Surgical Cognition Platform (SCP), which is being developed by Medical iSight ("MiS"), is AI and AR-enabled and advances surgical planning, intraoperative 3D navigation, and real-time predictive data insights. This work provides interventional and surgical methods with evidence-based improvement.
